Powdered threonine is a limiting amino acid.
In addition to lysine, methionine, and tryptophan, threonine is the fourth most important, so-called limiting amino acid. This means that they affect the absorption of other amino acids and thus the body’s protein synthesis. Among the natural ingredients, e.g., egg powder is rich in threonine; however, it may be worth supplementing in such a concentrated form depending on the recipe. There is no general rule regarding the dosage, as the range of ingredients mainly determines it, but it is not necessary to mix it in a large proportion. Usually, the required amount of threonine is already provided with a 1-2% dosage.
